For the past 50 years, it comes to no surprise that our commitment to our community and the people surrounding our business are important to us. But we don’t stop there- we want to celebrate and encourage others how our mission extends beyond our facility with a conscious effort to do right by the planet.
ESTCO Enterprises focuses on all-things sustainable: People, the Planet, and…of course, Pets!
At the end of the day, we want to all come to work feeling that we are putting our best foot forward toward important issues going on in the world: ethical practices, environmental standards, and having an efficiently run business that keeps everyone feeling profitable and energized!
Let’s start with our people:
ESTCO has been proud to call our operation a Family-first business, providing jobs to our employees with opportunities to thrive and most importantly- to belong!
We work as a team where everyone contributes their opinions, ideas, and perspectives. This not only creates a fair and fun work environment but also helps us reach paramount solutions for our customers and for the business!
ESTCO is Veteran-owned, founded by Rick Taylor who served as the United States Marine Corps Captain until 1970, and has been a family-owned and operated business, co-founded by Judy Taylor, our womanpreneur example who has led the way for generations to come!
Next, our Planet:
We have taken every opportunity to improve our working environment as technology and sustainability practices continue to advance.
A few of the ways that we make sure our commitment to keeping an Earth-friendly business are as follows:
- We keep a low footprint with lighting- In each of our warehouses, we have supplied our ceilings with natural light from local Carlsbad company, Solatube
- operating on energy-efficient warehouse technology and machinery
- Each and every one of our lights in the building is LED
- We use repurposed packaging material
- We never use packing peanuts or packing popcorn (Styrofoam).
- All of our old rubber is recycled
- We also pay for our own recycling container for all of the cardboard boxes we dispose of
- We keep an approach to “use what we got” when it comes to the way we keep our space!

When stepping into the office, you will notice that we have repurposed almost all of our interior materials, including heirlooms and family treasures to keep our workspaces welcoming after our remodel. We try our best not to buy anything new that we don’t need, and keep our building well insulated.

More than our office design, our company operates with the following certifications, which are crucial to keeping the environment reaching all climate change goals for the future:

This helps to reduce anything wasteful from happening during the entire process and eliminates the need for returns or additional packaging.
And how can we forget the love of our PETS!
We LOVE animals, especially our family of Siberian husky dogs who all have their own workspace in our office. We try to rescue our pets from local organizations keeping a humane approach to pet ownership and we love contributing to local organizations where we can!
